The chairs

Specialists, not generalists

Nobody at MARMO does everything, on purpose. Each discipline belongs to an artist who does that one thing relentlessly well. Book directly with your artist, or take first available and let the floor decide.

Mara Voss, founder and master colorist at MARMO, in a studio portrait

Mara Voss

Founder · Master Colorist

Mara spent eight years behind the chair in Chicago before coming home to open MARMO. She formulates like a chemist and places like a painter, and she has never once let a client leave brassy. The studio’s no-surprises pricing was her idea: she thinks a quote should be a number, not a vibe.

  • Lived-in blonde
  • Dimensional brunette
  • Corrective color
Dre Okafor, precision cutter at MARMO, in a moody studio portrait

Dre Okafor

Precision Cutter

Dre cuts dry because that is how hair is actually worn. Trained in classic barbering before crossing into salon work, he builds shapes that grow out on purpose. His chair has a waitlist and his playlist has a following.

  • Dry cutting
  • Short shapes
  • Editorial styling
Imani Cole, brow and lash artist at MARMO, in an editorial portrait

Imani Cole

Brow + Lash Artist

Imani measures twice and tweezes once. She came up through editorial makeup work, which is why her brow maps look like blueprints and her clients photograph the mirror on the way out. Strong opinions, gentle hands.

  • Brow mapping
  • Lamination
  • Lash lifts
Wren Halloran, lead esthetician at MARMO, in a natural-light portrait

Wren Halloran

Lead Esthetician

Wren is a licensed esthetician with a laboratory streak: she reads ingredient studies for fun and will tell you, kindly, which three products in your cabinet are working against each other. Her facials end with a written plan, not a sales pitch.

  • Clinical facials
  • Chemical peels
  • LED therapy
